DPC Senior Associate Valery Perry delivered a presentation entitled, “Efforts to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism in South-East Europe” at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly 94th Rose-Roth Seminar, Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group, held in Sarajevo from March 21-23, 2017.
Over 170 participants, including 84 members of parliament from 36 NATO member states and partner countries, participated in the event. Perry’s presentation was a part of a panel examining terrorism threats in the region and opportunities for more effective preventive measures.
The NATO PA Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group (GSM) provides a forum for parliamentarians from NATO countries and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to discuss political and security issues in order to enhance co-operation.
